Parent Forum Meeting

Present – Vicki Judd, Sophie Neal, Mrs Hanson-Magnusson and Mr Edgeley

Clubs – the parents in attendance wanted further information on the extra-curricular clubs that were going to be provided for this academic year. The school advised that the clubs had now been finalised and pupils had been notified. An updated list of the clubs would be added to the school website.

Communication and notice– parents would like to be given as much notice as possible for any dress-up days or school trips. The school’s policy is to give 2 weeks notice for such activities and staff would be reminded of this.  A parent raised the possibility of the school giving more notice for INSET Days. When dates for INSETs are confirmed by the school these will be immediately communicated with parents/carers.

Cost of trips – a parent shared concerns that some families were finding it hard to pay for trips and the residential trips for Years 5 and 6. As a school we recognise this and try to look for low cost/free trips or to have visitors come into school. The school will always try to make use of grants to cover as much of the costs as possible.

Christmas Shows – Some parents/carer had raised questions over the ticketing system for the PS3 Christmas Show last year and wanted confirmation of the system that would be used this year in particular regarding the restriction on number of tickets per family.

Timings of Parent Forum Meeting – a parent suggested that the timing of the Parent Forum could be reviewed to allow more parents to attend. The school would be keen to hear from parents/carers as to when the optimal time for these meetings could be.

• An updated list of clubs would be added to school’s website
• Dates for Christmas Shows would be communicated as soon as possible
• Staff would be reminded of the need to give at least 2 weeks notice for any dress-up days or trips
