Please find attached the latest update from the Welsh Assembly Government. More information can be found on our school website in the ’Stop Press’ section.
Particularly in light of the current health issues, please can we ask all parents to send their children in with a named water bottle for use in the classroom.
MARIE CURIE DAFFODIL APPEAL
Year 6 pupils will be bringing Marie Curie Daffodils round the classes next week. There is a suggested donation of £1 if you would like your child to buy one and support this very worthwhile cause.
A reminder that the next Parent Forum meeting will take place on Tuesday 3rd March at 9.00am in the staffroom. All parents are welcome and we would love to have at least one representative from every year group!
Y6 CYCLING PROFICIENCY TRAINING
This year, the Cycling Proficiency course for Y6 children will run for two weeks from next Monday 2nd March.
Volunteers are needed to accompany the cyclists on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in the first week and Monday to Thursday in the second week. There are two sessions per day, 9.00am to 12.00pm and 1.15pm to 3.20pm.
We do not have enough volunteers yet so if you are able to help us out even for one of these sessions, please let us know as soon as possible. You do not need to have a bike!
FOUNDATION PHASE ‘DESIGNED TO SMILE’
As a result of the recent Storm Dennis, all the ‘Designed to Smile’ team’s resources were lost in flooding at Treforest Industrial Estate. As a result all consent forms need to be completed again although the toothbrushing programme is continuing if your child was previously enrolled.
The Cardiff and Vale Health Board would like to reassure parents that they have used proper processes to dispose of their confidential information on the ruined forms.
Our combined attendance this week was 93.0%, welll below our target of 96.3%.
Our two winning classes this week are the same for the third week in a row! Mr Jarvis’s Y1/2 class are victorious in the Foundation Phase and Miss Price’s Y4 wins in KS2 both with 99.6% attendance! Congratulations to both classes – they will get a sticker on the graph and extra play next week!
REMEMBER—A DAY MISSED CAN IMPACT ON YOUR CHILD’S PROGRESS IN SCHOOL
Welcome back to a busy half term for the PTA.
Don’t forget it’s the clothes drop on WEDNESDAY 4th March. If the weather is kind to us please take your bag/s to the staff carpark. If the weather continues as it is currently, we’ll put further information on year group what’s apps!
Remember you can get rid of many items not just clothes such as curtains and bed sets – the heavier the better!!! 😉
Nb if you’ve run out of bags we have a few spare but you can also use any bin/charity bags.
MOTHERS DAY SALE!!!! – 20th March 2020
This is one of the PTA’s favourite events of the year!!! We would be really grateful if you could please donate any unwanted Christmas pressies or old jewellery (no pierced earrings) that we could include in the sale. We need these items ASAP so that we can assess and see how much we need to buy. Please pass to a PTA rep or bring to the school office so we can store them and know how much we have.
We also need volunteers to help wrap and sell gifts. This is a magical event to help at as the children’s faces and pondering is just lovely.
QUIZ NIGHT – 13th March 2020
