A reminder that Monday 3rd June is an INSET day. We look forward to seeing all pupils again on Tuesday 4th June.
We would like to wish you all a very relaxing and hopefully sunny half term break!
All children from Year 2 to Year 6 have now completed the national numeracy and reading tests 2018/19. Individual results from the national reading and numerical reasoning tests will be sent out with your child’s report at the end of this academic year. However, individual results for the online national numerical procedural tests can now be accessed via your child’s Hwb usernames and passwords. Younger children (Year 2) will bring a copy of their username and password home today. Older children are aware of their own details.
Please note this online personalised assessment is aimed to gather information on the skills your child has already developed and the skills your child needs in order to progress. The test does not give a score or a standardised result. For more information on assessment feedback please visit: https://drive.google.com/open?
WORLD OF EDUCATION
Pupils from Year 1 – Year 5 will come home with a username and password for an online programme ‘World of Education’ designed to develop maths, literacy and ICT skills. Children can access this programme at: https://app.world.prowise.uk/ Children have recently been introduced to this programme and they will be able to use it within school and at home during their leisure time if they wish.
SULLY HAS TALENT
Millie-Rose Williams in Year 5 has recently achieved huge successes in gymnastics competitions both as an individual and as part of a team. Millie came 1st in floor for the whole of the UK and 1st in vault for the whole of the U.K. Millie was also part of the Welsh team that secured 1st place overall. We celebrate Millie’s achievement and wish her well in the future.
HEALTH & SAFETY
If you bring your dog to school when dropping off and/or collecting your child can we please remind you to keep your dog away from any school entrances and to always have them on a lead.
DIARY PHOTO DAY
On Thursday 6th June Colorfoto will be in school taking photos of children at work and play in order for us to create display posters. Please can you ensure your child is wearing the correct school uniform.
Our sporting teams have had a busy few weeks! Our rugby and netball teams took part in the St Joseph’s Annual Tournament this week, and both acquitted themselves superbly against tough opposition.
Our football team recently took part in the Wales Schools Football Association 5-a-side competition, representing Cardiff and the Vale and played very well.
Sully School also entered teams in the Penarth Lacrosse Tournament held last weekend at Stanwell School. One team came third in a competition featuring schools from a wide area.
Congratulations to all these participants and the members of staff who coach them, and our thanks to all the parents who accompanied the teams with special thanks to Mr Bennett for all his help with the rugby team.
The timings for sports day are shown below, in the school dates section.
Children in the Foundation Phase (Reception, Y1 and Y2) may wear any colour top, but children in KS2 are requested to wear their house colours.
All pupils should come to school in their PE kit that morning, wearing suitable shoes for the event, and bring a water bottle. If the weather demands it, please also send your child with a hat and apply suncream before school.
If Sports Day has to be postponed, this will be announced immediately the decision is made via ParentPay email, Twitter and in the Stop Press section of the school website. If you have any doubts about the weather, please check these platforms and do not contact the school.
Nursery Sports Day will be held on Thursday 20th June, more details are on your Nursery newsletter.
