INSET DAY – ADVANCE NOTICE
Monday 3rd June 2019 will be an INSET day.
GOODBYE MRS SHELDON
Sadly, Mrs Sheldon will be leaving us at the end of this school year. Mrs Sheldon has been an integral member of the school for a number of years, as Additional Learning Needs coordinator, senior leader, creative arts champion and accomplished author. Mrs Sheldon will be taking up a new challenge as ALNCo and class teacher at St Illtyd’s Primary School from September. I am sure you will join us in wishing Mrs Sheldon all the very best and thank her for the support and guidance she has provided during her time in Sully Primary School. The school is currently undertaking an internal ALNCo recruitment process. Once this process is complete, the school community will be informed.
SCHOOL MEALS PRICE RISE
A reminder that the price of school meals will increase by 5p to £2.30 per day, £11.50 per week, from Monday 1st April.
DOGS NEAR SCHOOL ENTRANCES
Thank you for supporting our policy of not allowing dogs onto the school grounds. In addition to this, we have a number of children who are nervous of dogs and are uncomfortable when having to walk past them when tied up at the entrances. We would be grateful if you could tether your dogs a little further away from the school entrances. Many thanks for your understanding.
WHAT IS TIMEBANKING?
All will be explained at a free event taking place on Thursday 28th March from 4.00pm – 8.00pm at Barry Memorial Hall. All are welcome to attend and drop in.
The event is being run to promote local sports groups and community organisations who are recruiting new players/members and volunteers, and to introduce young people to the Timebanking scheme.
To find out more about the event please contact Mark Ellis, Community Investment & Involvement Officer on 07826 020707 or see the flyer attached to this newsletter.
The photographer will be in school on Tuesday April 30th to take class photos and individual Y6 photos. Please send your Reception to Y6 child in to school that day in full school uniform including a jumper or cardigan. Nursery children may wear uniform or not as you choose.
Well done to the Sully School team who entered the Cwis Dwlu Darllen and won!
Also a mention for our footballers who will be representing Cardiff and the Vale in the National 5-a-side competition in May.
On Friday 12th April, we will be having a non-uniform day when children are invited to come in to school in their sports kit, ready to do some training with Miss Eaton. Donations are not required, but would be very gratefully received as they will support Miss Eaton in her efforts to raise money for the NSPCC by running the London Marathon on April 27th!
