FROM MRS WADDINGTON
Please find attached a letter from Mrs Waddington which includes details of forthcoming staffing changes.
There is a North Face jacket in the school office, please come and collect it if it belongs to your child.
Named lost property has been returned to its owner, everything else is still in the lost property basket. Anything unclaimed at the end of the first week back to school will be taken to the clothes bank.
On Wednesday, two teams represented Sully Primary School at a Cardiff and Vale Schools Football Tournament. The boys, all from years 5 and 6, showed a fantastic attitude and a huge amount of determination, skill and teamwork – they really did the school proud.
The Sully A team finished second overall winning 6 of their 8 games, which was an amazing achievement. The Sully B team finished a very respectable second in their groups meaning they finished fifth overall. Mr Jarvis would like to thank the boys for their excellent performance and exemplary behaviour at the event, and also the parents who arranged transport and stayed to cheer the teams on.
HOME-SCHOOL LINK OFFICER
Mrs Barlow will not be in school on Friday 10th January as she will be in another school. She will be available again on 17th January.
MINEHEAD AVENUE TRAFFIC
There have been many complaints recently about the traffic in Minehead Avenue at drop-off and pick-up time. Please park with consideration for our neighbours.
In addition, these peak periods would be less stressful, and less dangerous, if everyone could adhere to our voluntary one-way system. Please drive down Minehead Avenue from South Road and then continue around the loop to re-emerge near the top of the road. Thank you for your co-operation in this matter.
Please ensure that your child is registered with the appropriate teacher if they wish to start music lessons after Christmas. The letter with contact details is attached to this newsletter.
Our combined attendance this week was 89.5%, well below our target of 96.3%.
Top of the Foundation Phase was Mr Jarvis’s Y1/2 class on 98.7% while Miss Eaton’s Y3 class are the KS2 winners for the second week running with an impressive 99.5%! Well done to both classes – they will get a sticker on the graph and extra play next week!
REMEMBER—A DAY MISSED CAN IMPACT ON YOUR CHILD’S PROGRESS IN SCHOOL
The Christmas raffles raised just over £1,000 so, thanks to your generosity, the PTA have raised a whooping £2,850 so far this academic year!
Congratulations to Katie Armitage, Mei Yi Ho and Heidi Dowling who have won the October, November and Decembers draw respectively. Cheques are currently being raised and will be with you in January.
CLOTHES DROP – advance notice
Early in the New Year, we will be holding another clothes drop! If you’re having a wardrobe clear out over Christmas please keep this in mind. Remember we accept curtains and bedding too!
