MAY DAY 2020
Please note that the May Day holiday for 2020 has been changed from Monday 4th May to Friday 8th May 2020 to coincide with the 75th anniversary of VE Day.
Unfortunately the Thai Green Curry on the Week 3 school dinner menu did not go down well with the children and the cook, Mrs Jenkins, has decided to substitute it with Chicken Tikka Masala for the next few months. Please note this menu change for NEXT MONDAY.
You may have noticed some new planters inside the main entrance of the school. They have been made, personalised and donated by Mr Allan Jones, the father of David, one of our Y6 pupils. He also gave us the soil and plants to fill them and has made and donated many of the benches around the school.
We are very grateful for his generosity and look forward to seeing the plants in place next week!
WE ARE MAKATON FRIENDLY!
We are very proud to let everyone know that Sully Primary School has been recognised as a Makaton Friendly organisation once again. This status is awarded to organisations who do their best to ensure that people who use Makaton feel welcome.
Makaton is a language programme using signs and symbols to help people communicate; it’s also proven to develop speech, language and communication skills. Using signs and symbols, people can tell what others want, make choices and join in. This award recognises that the pupils of Sully Primary do their best to make sure everyone is included and can communicate not only in school, but as members of the community.
Thanks to Mrs Fortunka for her hard work towards this recognition. If you want to learn along with the children, please see the weekly Sign of the Week on Twitter or contact the school for more information.
Please find attached audition information for CCVG Ensembles.
CARDIFF BARRAGE TRANSPORT LINK
The school has been requested by the Vale of Glamorgan Council to share the information that can be found on the link below:
The public drop in session that is taking place will give you the opportunity to comment on options that have been suggested to improve sustainable transport between Penarth and Cardiff barrage. Input from residents, including children, is encouraged so that any option(s) taken forward is well informed.
