 INSET DAY

Please remember that Monday 16th December is an INSET day, the children are not required to attend.

CHOIR NEWS

The choir will be performing at Sully Old School this Sunday, 15th December.  The children should meet at the Old School at 5.45pm, wearing school uniform, with Christmas accessories if they wish.

There will be no Choir after school next week.

Y5/6 PANTO TRIP

If necessary, please log on to ParentPay to pay/consent for this trip.  The children will get back to school too late for a school meal so will require a packed lunch to eat when they return.

SCHOOL ADMISSIONS

Further to the letter from the Vale sent via email earlier this week, please see below further clarification from the Headteacher of Stanwell School.

‘Dear Parents/Carers of Sully School pupils,

As you may be aware, the Vale of Glamorgan Local Authority is currently undertaking a consultation on changing catchment areas for community schools in the local area for the academic year 2021-22. Stanwell School is a foundation school which sets its own Admissions arrangements, therefore is not affected by the Vale of Glamorgan LA’s proposed changes. Stanwell School’s Admissions Policy continues to give priority to feeder school pupils such as Sully School.

I hope that this reassures parents/carers that the long-established and highly successful link between Sully School and Stanwell School will be unaffected by any changes.

Yours sincerely,

Trevor Brown, Headteacher, Stanwell School.’

CHRISTMAS DINNER/JUMPER DAY

If your child has requested a school Christmas dinner for Thursday, please remember to pre-pay via ParentPay, each meal is £2.30.  If your child has not requested a meal, please send a packed lunch on that day.

Everyone is invited to wear their Christmas jumper, hat or antlers on Thursday to make our celebrations even more fun!

CHRISTINGLE

As usual, we will round off our Christmas celebrations and the Autumn Term with our traditional Christingle service.  We always take a small collection of silver coins for the Children’s Society, so please send your child in with a coin or two if you would like to.

NEW YEAR, NEW MENU

A new menu will start when we return to school in January – please find attached to this newsletter.  A copy is also available on our school website.

ATTENDANCE MATTERS!

Our combined attendance this week was a disappointing 94.2%, again well below our target of 96.3%.

Top of the Foundation Phase was Mrs Heaton’s Reception/Y1 class with 96.4% while Miss Eaton’s Y3 class are the KS2 winners with an unbeatable 100%!  Well done to both classes – they will get a sticker on the graph and extra play next week!

REMEMBER—A DAY MISSED CAN IMPACT ON YOUR CHILD’S PROGRESS IN SCHOOL
