A reminder that next Friday, 14th February, is an INSET day. The children will return to school after half-term, on Monday 24th February.
Because of the INSET day, guitar lessons will take place on Wednesday instead of Friday for next week only.
OPEN AFTERNOONS NEXT WEEK
We look forward to seeing as many parents as possible, from Reception to Y6, at our Spring Open Afternoons! They will take place next week on Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th February. This is a lovely opportunity for you to see some of the work your children have been doing and talk to them about their experiences and progress before your parents’ evening appointments after half-term.
Please drop in for a 10 minute session any time between 1.30pm and 3.00pm.
Please come to the main entrance where you will be greeted by a member of our Community Cadets who are assisting in organising these afternoons.
Please be advised that your children will need to return to class after you have looked at their books together and they will be dismissed by their teacher at the usual time.
ST DAVID’S DAY
To celebrate St David’s Day this year, we will be holding a school Eisteddfod on Friday 28th February.
You will be receiving via email details of the home learning competitions that will form part of our celebrations. All pupils in KS2 need to enter at least one of the competitions as this will be their half-term homework.
Y6 ERASMUS MEETING
A meeting has been arranged for the parents of those Y6 children attending the Erasmus visit to Portugal. It will take place on Tuesday 10th March at 8.30am. The children involved will bring home a letter with more details before the meeting.
Our non-uniform day raised £375 in Memory of Hannah French. Thank you for your generous donations.
SULLY GUIDES ARE CELEBRATING!
Sully Guides turns 75 years old this year, and the girls are hosting an afternoon tea on Sun 15th March for all former guides and leaders. If any of our parents or community members have previously attended guides in the village or have any connection to the unit at all, the girls would love you to come along and join in the celebration.
Please spread the word, and RSVP directly to firstname.lastname@example.org if you’d like to come along…… they need an idea of numbers to ensure there is sufficient cake! A flyer with further details is attached.
HOCKEY CLUB CANCELLED
There is no hockey club on Tuesday 11th February as Mrs Munro-Morris is unavailable. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
Our combined attendance this week was 94.5%, still below our target of 96.3%.
However our two winners this week both have perfect 100% attendance – Mr Jarvis’s Y1/2 class in the Foundation Phase and Miss Price’s class in KS2! Well done to both classes – they will get a sticker on the graph and extra play next week!
REMEMBER—A DAY MISSED CAN IMPACT ON YOUR CHILD’S PROGRESS IN SCHOOL
SWEET SALE 🍭🍬
On Thursday 13th February after school there will be an end of half term sweet sale. Please remember to bring some coins with you.
Bags will be coming home this evening. Please read the information sheet (you can’t miss it!).
MOTHERS DAY SALE!!!! – 20th March 2020
This is one of the PTA’s favourite events of the year!!! We would be really grateful if you could please donate any unwanted Christmas pressies or old jewellery (no pierced earrings) that we could include in the sale. We need these items ASAP in order that we can assess and see how much we need to buy. Please pass to a PTA rep so we can store them and know how much we have.
We also need volunteers to help wrap and sell gifts. This is a magical event to help at as the children’s faces and pondering is just lovely.
Tickets on sale now!! Rumour has it there will be a teachers team?! – Are you cleverer than our teachers?! Promises to be a fun night. Please support.
We are still in need of a treasurer! The Treasurer can be a background role and you would not need to help at actual events. If anyone knows of anyone who would be willing to help us please get in touch.
