 REPORTS DAY

Your child will today be bringing home their written report, along with information on their next class teacher, where their new classroom is situated and the point where they are met in the morning and collected at the end of the day. If you would like to discuss your child’s report with their class teacher or Mrs Waddington, then please contact the school in order to make an appointment before the end of term.

 

STAFFING STRUCTURE FOR NEXT ACADEMIC YEAR

Please find attached a letter from Mrs Waddington, our Acting Headteacher, explaining the staffing changes and structure for the forthcoming academic year.

 

INSET DAYS – ADVANCE NOTICE

Monday 4th November 2019, Monday 16th December 2019 and Friday 14th February 2020 will be INSET days for Sully PS.

 

Monday 2nd September 2019 and Monday 20th July 2020 are designated INSET days for all Vale schools.

 

ABSENCE FROM SCHOOL

Please remember to leave a message on the school phone if your child is going to be absent from school or late for any reason.  Your children’s safety is our main concern and the office staff will make every effort to locate your child if no message is received.

 

No holiday is treated as authorised absence.  However if you do wish to take your child out of school for any reason, please come to the school office for a ‘Notification of Absence’ form, complete it accurately and return it to school.  Many thanks for your cooperation in this matter.

 

SULLY SAVERS

Next week will be the last Sully Savers of the year, well done to everyone who has taken part this year!

 

ATTENDANCE FOR THE WEEK

Our whole-school attendance figure for this week is 93.7% which is again below our school target of 96.4%.

 

Individual class figures were as follows:

So in the Foundation Phase this week Mr Jarvis’s Y2 class were the winners and Mrs Boyle’s Y3 class came out top of KS2 – congratulations to them!  Both classes will have extra play next week and another sticker on the graph.

 

We are nearly at the end of the school year – which classes will come out on top and get a class treat?  Watch this space……!

 

PTA NEWS

CLOTHES WEIGH IN

What a fantastic response we had – if you didn’t see the pile of bags, it was bigger than a large family car!

 

The weight was 826 kilos and we received a cheque for £344, thank you for your support.

 

SUMMER FAYRE & CIRCUS

After months of planning, it’s finally here! The PTA are very excited and can’t wait to see you all tomorrow!

 

Don’t forget that if you are going to the circus you MUST bring your ticket or show it to us on your phone, we need the QR code to scan you in. Unfortunately, there will be no facility on the day for us to find your ticket so we will have a strict policy of NO TICKET, NO ENTRY.  As mobile phone signal can be intermittent, it may be worth doing a screenshot of your ticket.

 

If you can’t find your ticket in your emails, log into www.pta-events.co.uk/sullyschool and go to your account then your orders, and it will be there to download again.

 

If you aren’t going to the circus, you will be able to pay on the door to come in to the fayre at £2 per family (max 2 adults).  There are still some tickets left for the 4pm circus performance which you will be able to purchase at the door, subject to availability, or online up to 8pm this evening.

 

Inside the circus tent, popcorn and other circus toys will be on sale, however anything bought in the tent DOES NOT benefit the school.   The proceeds from all other stalls at the fayre goes directly to our school.

 

Thank you for responding so well to all our donation requests this week, we have had a great response!

 

The PTA will be wearing spots or stripes tomorrow, please feel free to join us.

 

As requested by the school’s eco-council, this year we are making a big effort to reduce single-use plastic and so we will be selling our very own reusable Sully School pint and half pint cups for just £1.

 

The idea is to refill at the fete whenever you want a drink (there will be a wash station) then take it home and bring it back to the next PTA school event.

 

We will also have recycling areas and general waste areas so please help us by putting your waste in the correct bags.

 

We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow for what promises to be a fantastic afternoon – don’t forget your sun cream!
