Welcome back to the summer term, we hope you enjoyed a relaxing Easter Break. We would also like to send out an extra warm welcome to all our new pupils and parents.
Please find attached our summer term curriculum news booklet. The aim of this booklet is to inform parents of the learning taking place within our school and allow for further support to take place at home.
The booklet can also be found on the school website under the ‘Learning Zone’ tab.
NATIONAL TEST FORTNIGHT
Pupils from Yr 2–Yr 6 will be undertaking national tests from Tuesday 7th – Friday 17th May. We request that you avoid taking your child out of school during this period unless of course they are too poorly to attend.
As the days warm up may we please remind parents to put names in items of school uniform as many jumpers, cardigans and coats end up in the lost property at this time of year.
WELL DONE MISS EATON!
Many congratulations to Miss Eaton who completed the London Marathon in 5 hours 16 minutes and 39 seconds. Her efforts raised more than £2500 for the NSPCC, of which £284 was raised by our school’s non-uniform day on 12th April.
Miss Eaton would like to thank everyone for their support and good wishes.
There will be a Jamboree in the Senedd on 6th May 2019 and everyone is welcome to join in – see the attached flyer for more details.
BATTERY RECYCLING COMPETITION
Thank you for the batteries already sent in – please continue to put any used AA, AAA, C and D batteries in your mini recycling box, or just in a bag, and bring them in any time. Pass the word to family and friends too! The competition closes on 3rd June but we will have an ongoing collection box after that.
ATTENDANCE FOR THE WEEK
Our whole-school attendance figure for this week is 97.0%, which is above our school target of 96.4% – well done everyone!
Individual class figures were as follows:
Mrs Heaton’s Y1/2 class had a perfect 100% attendance in the Foundation Phase – well done! In KS2, Mrs Boyle’s pupils are the winners this week. Both classes will have extra play next week and another sticker on the graph…..
