A Lead Creative School

For the third year, Sully Primary School has been chosen to participate in the Lead Creative School scheme operated by the Arts Council for Wales. The Lead Creative Schools Scheme aims to promote new ways of working in schools, providing the opportunity to develop an innovative and bespoke programme of learning designed to improve the quality of teaching and learning.

As a Lead Creative School we have access to creative people, skills and resources to support our pupils and to develop creativity and particular skills throughout the school. In previous years, the children have undertaken projects to develop reasoning and creative writing skills.

Our creative champion is Mrs Sheldon who, led by the children, has facilitated each project. The children have interviewed and hired creative practitioners who have musical expertise, acting or filming as their main field of experience.

We hope you like our movies found above, our films are based on a number of different projects – from explaining weather, preventing plastic pollution in our seas and traditional Welsh tales.
