CHANGE TO MENU

Don’t forget that on the first day back to school after half-term, we will be having a special Bonfire Night lunch of Hot Dogs, chips and beans and a Crunchy Cornflake Crispy cake for afters, instead of the meal on the published menu.

SCHOOL PHOTOS

This week your child has brought home a proof copy of their recent school photo.  Please return any orders to school on Monday 5th November otherwise you may order and pay online.

NEW PARENT-GOVERNORS

Following the recent elections, Jeremy Baker has been elected as a parent-governor, and Vikki Evans has been re-elected.  Congratulations to them, and thank you to everyone who put themselves forward and also to everyone who voted.

REMEMBRANCE

Poppies and Royal British Legion merchandise will be available during the week after half-term.  Pencil sharpeners, rubbers, pencils and reflectors have a suggested donation price of 50p and the suggested price for a ruler is £1.

‘TURNING THE TIDE ON PLASTIC’ – ENRICHMENT GROUP ENTERPRISE SALE

Miss Harries’ group’s products are nearly ready to sell and will be available to buy on 5th November between 2.00pm and 2.45pm in her classroom.  If your child is involved in this group, we hope you can come along and support them – items will be priced at 50p or £1, please help us out by bringing the right change if possible!

SURVEY

Please take a moment to follow this link:  https://www.snapsurveys.com/wh/s.asp?k=153814424814,  which is an online survey for the parents/carers of children and young people who live in Wales. It has been devised by the Children’s Commissioner for Wales to provide her with information which will help her to choose the most useful projects to improve the lives of children in Wales.

SUPPORT SCHOOL DINNERS!

It is National School Meals Week on the 12th -16th November and we would like to get as many pupils in for lunch as possible to celebrate the 25th Year anniversary of this event.  The new menu is on the school website, under the ‘Parent Zone’ tab.

Attached to this newsletter are details of a competition for pupils, parents and staff to enter, called #cookeditmyselfie.

IMPROVE YOUR LIFE…..

Keo Films are making a brand-new BBC1 show called ‘100 Ways to Live Better’ with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and Steph McGovern, a series that aims to give us tips and easy fixes to dramatically improve our diet, lifestyle, stress and mental well-being.

They are currently looking for families that are looking to get healthier and happier but struggle to find ways that work and would love to help those who feel like they have no idea how to improve things.

A poster giving more details is attached to this newsletter.

PTA NEWS

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and helped at the Halloween discos, the children all had a great time and we raised an amazing £600.

What a great start to a year of fun and fundraising!

THE PTA IS NOW ON PARENTPAY!

We often get asked how to donate to the PTA, as some parents find it difficult to come along to the events but still wish to support us.

There is now an easy way to donate to the PTA.  When logging onto your ParentPay account there is now an option marked PTA Donations.  This is really simple to use, just donate the amount of your choice.

As explained in the letter emailed from Mr Williams earlier this week, we are setting our target high this year to improve the school hall, so look out for lots of future events!

Thank You for your continued support.
