OPEN AFTERNOONS NEXT WEEK
We look forward to seeing as many parents as possible, from Reception to Y6, at our Open Afternoons! They will take place on Thursday 4th and Friday 5th October. Please drop in for a 10 minute session any time between 1.30pm and 3.00pm.
Please come to the main entrance where you will be greeted by a member of our Year 6 and escorted to the hall.
Please be advised that your children will need to return to class after you have looked at their books together and they will be dismissed by their teacher at the usual time.
NUMERACY WORKSHOPS FOR PARENTS
These workshops will take place this coming Wednesday, 3rd October, between 4pm and 6pm. The workshops will be led by class teachers and will be age/stage appropriate.
The event will consist of two 40-minute sessions to allow parents with children in more than one year group to attend two different presentations. To assist with childcare arrangements, children will be able to remain in the hall where they will be supervised whilst watching a suitable film.
FALLS PREVENTION PROJECT
Sully Primary is working with the local Health Board and Cardiff University on a new project called ‘Staying Steady with Schools’. Our Y6 pupils will be giving a ‘Falls Awareness’ presentation on Friday 19th October at 2pm.
The children would like to invite family members such as grandparents and great-grandparents, or any other members of the local community who may be aged 65+ to attend their presentation to learn about what the risk factors are for falls occurring, and what we can all do to reduce those risks.
Refreshments will be provided and we hope to see lots of people for an informative afternoon!
Mrs Best would be very grateful for donations of old white sheets for a forthcoming project about the Romans. Please bring them in to school if you can help her out.
She would also love to have any single-colour fabric scraps you may have spare. Thank you!
THOUGHTS ON CATERING?
Vale Catering, who supply our school meals, would like to set up some focus groups involving parents across the Vale of Glamorgan to get feedback and new ideas for their service and menus going forward. If any parents would be interested in taking part, please contact Symon Dovey via email:
ST RICHARD GWYN OPEN DAY
St Richard Gwyn are holding an Open Day and Evening on Wednesday 3rd October. Families of Y4 and Y5 as well as Y6 are very welcome.
