NEW PARENT-GOVERNORS REQUIRED
The school requires two new parent-governors and elections will take place shortly.

The Vale of Glamorgan has started a new scheme, whereby elections take place electronically. In order for every parent to be eligible for nomination and also to vote, please can we ask you to ensure that the school has the current email addresses for anyone with legal parental responsibility for your child.

If you think that we may not have up-to-date email addresses, please let the school know by Tuesday of next week, 11th September. Please note that the email addresses on ParentPay are not necessarily the ones held by the school.

Many thanks.

SULLY SAVERS CREDIT UNION
Sully School works alongside Cardiff & Vale Credit Union to run ‘Sully Savers’, held every Friday lunchtime. This enterprise helps develop the children’s understanding of money management and assists in improving their numeracy skills.

If your child would like to join, please call in to the office for an application form.

Y6 ABERNANT MEETING
There will be a meeting for all parents of children in Year 6 to discuss next May’s residential trip to Abernant. It will take place on Monday 17th September at 8.30am in Miss Martin’s Y6 classroom.
We hope that as many parents as possible will be able to attend.

MUSIC LESSONS FOR Y2 TO Y6
If your child is in Y2 to Y6, then they may like to take music lessons in school. If so, please sign up as soon as possible so that lessons can start with all pupils promptly in the second week of term.

If your child is already taking music lessons please ensure that the individual teacher or the music service knows whether they are continuing or not.

Please do not purchase an instrument without referring to the relevant teacher. Some instruments are available to borrow from the school.

Full details of the lessons and contact details are attached to this newsletter.

ATTENDANCE FOR THE WEEK
Staggered starts in the younger classes mean that it would be difficult to compare attendance figures this week. However two classes in KS2 had 100% attendance this week – a great start for Mrs Morgan and Mrs Sheldon’s Y3 children and Mr Blasizza’s Y5 pupils!
