CALLING ALL MAGS & DUGS
Tomorrow morning, Saturday June 16th, we are hoping to gather and paint a number of sheds in the playground and transform them into beach huts for our children to use. If you are available from 10am – 12pm we welcome anyone to come along and help us brighten up this area of the playground. The more the merrier – so please bring a friend!
RELIEF MIDDAY SUPERVISORS REQUIRED!
If any parent or anyone you know might be interested in a position as a relief midday supervisor, to cover absences as required, please let the school office know. The requirement is for 1.25 hours occasionally, between 12.00 and 1.30pm depending on whether you are covering infant or juniors lunchtime.
MISS EATON’S BEACH VISIT
Miss Eaton’s class will not be visiting the beach this Wednesday.
All orders for class photographs should be returned to school by Thursday 21st June. After this date, photos can be ordered directly from Colorfoto but may incur a postage charge.
Y6 parents may wish to wait a few days before ordering as we are hoping to get proofs for a photograph of the entire year, rather than the two classes separately. If we are able do this, your child will bring home a proof as soon as they arrive.
NETBALL & RUGBY SUCCESS AT ST JOSEPH’S
Recently our school was represented in a netball and rugby competition hosted by St Joseph’s RC Primary School. Both teams played against schools from across the Vale and Cardiff and did us proud – both teams were welcomed home with silverware!
A huge thank you goes out to Miss Eaton, Mrs Barlow and Mr Bennett for organising and coaching our champions!
Y6 EVACUEES DAY
The Y6 Evacuees dressing-up day, postponed from last month, will now be on Thursday 28th June.
KS2 SPORTS DAY
The KS2 Sports Day will take place this Thursday from 1.15pm. To accommodate this, the children will have lunch slightly earlier than usual and the menus for Wednesday and Thursday will be swapped around, so that Wednesday will be a roast dinner and Thursday will be pasta Bolognese.
ATTENDANCE FOR THIS WEEK
Our whole-school attendance figure for this week is a slightly improved 94.5%, our target being 97%.
Individual class figures were as follows:
So this week’s best attenders are Mrs Heaton’s Y1/2 class in the Foundation Phase and Mrs Williams’ Y4 class with an amazing 100% in KS2! Both classes will get ten minutes extra play next week.
The PTA will be selling hot & cold drinks and cakes at the sports days next Wednesday & Thursday. Please can any cake donations be brought into school on Tuesday (19th) – if they are in a container that you would like returning please clearly label with your child’s name and class.
With only 3 weeks to the summer fair (Saturday 7th July), tickets will go on sale this Monday priced at £2 for a family of 2 adults and as many children as you can find! Please buy your tickets in advance of the event as it helps speed up the entry queue and allows us to get a better feel for numbers. The ticket is in the form of our summer fair booklets and allows you fast track entry to the fair. Tickets will be on sale in the playground (next to table tennis tables) every morning and evening, from the school office and Nursery class.
Any further volunteers for help with the summer fair please contact Michaela direct by text on 07919043310
Thank you for your continued support for the school via PTA events.
