STAFF CHANGES @ SULLY PS
Mr Williams writes:
‘It is with a great deal of sadness that I inform you of the retirement of Mrs Clare T. Williams (Nursery) at the end of this academic year. Mrs Williams has been a stalwart of Sully Primary School for the past 23 years and has touched the lives of many individuals and families through her dedication to the school. Although we will miss her greatly, we hope that Mrs Williams enjoys the next exciting chapter of her life.
Miss Eaton will also be leaving us next year, albeit for just one academic year, as she embarks on a sabbatical at Cardiff University to develop her Welsh language skills. Miss Eaton will not be a stranger to us as she will join us during the spring and summer term for one day a week where she will put her newly acquired skills to good use.
As a result of the above changes, the school is undertaking a recruitment drive. When we have completed this process, we will inform pupils and parents/carers.’
ROYAL WEDDING CELEBRATIONS
We have had a great day celebrating tomorrow’s wedding! Photos will be put on the website soon, so keep an eye out for them.
Please find attached details of the upcoming auditions for the CCAVC ensembles. We hope that some of our budding musicians will try out !
CLASS PHOTOS NEXT WEDNESDAY
The school photographer will be coming in on Wednesday, 23rd May, to take class photos from Nursery to Y6 and also individual photos of Y6 children. Please ensure that your child is in school uniform that day, including a jumper or cardigan, without which they may not show up against the backdrop!
PAIRED READING CANCELLED 23/05/18
Please note that Paired Reading for Y1 will be cancelled next week as the hall is use for school photos.

FOOD BANK DONATIONS
The ladies who came for our donations for the Vale Foodbank were absolutely thrilled by the amount we collected – thank you so much for your generosity, especially given such short notice.
ATTENDANCE FOR THIS WEEK
Our whole-school attendance figure for this week is just 94.9%.
Individual class figures were as follows:
So this week’s star attenders are Miss Eaton’s and Mr Jarvis’s classes in the Foundation Phase both with a magnificent 100%, and Miss Price’s Y4 class in KS2. Well done to them all, they will get ten minutes extra play next week! We are aware of lengthy illnesses in both the Y5 classes, so they should not be downhearted!
Please remember to bring in any sponsorship money once collected for the sponsored bounce so we can get a grand total!
Used Uniform Sale
We are hoping to hold a nearly new school uniform sale where parents can purchase uniform. Please can you send in any clean good condition uniform by Monday 21st May that you no longer need, please also remove any name tags. We will have the sale just before half term.
Father’s Day Sale
The Father’s Day sale will be on Friday 15th June, please start to bring in any Father’s Day donations as soon as possible so we can get a feel of how many we have.
Summer Fair brochure
Anyone wishing to advertise in this year’s summer fair brochure should contact Fleur Riggs on Fleurriggs@gmail.com. The brochure is distributed to everyone attending the fair and is a good way to promote your business in Sully.
