NEWSLETTER 24/11/2017

SCHOOL CHRISTMAS DINNER

On Monday, children in all classes from Reception to Y6 will bring home a slip to be completed if they would like to have the school Christmas Dinner on Thursday 14th December.

So that the cook can order enough food, she needs to have final numbers by next Friday, 1st December – please return the slip by then.

If your child has not pre-booked this meal, they will not be able to have a cooked meal on that day.

Please note that there will be no baguette or jacket potato option on that day.

Payment for the meal is in the usual way, in advance via ParentPay – please do not send cash.

KS2 VISIT TO ‘HANSEL & GRETEL’

Please remember to log on to ParentPay to pay for, and consent to, this trip as soon as possible.

THE WRONG COAT…

Has your child brought home the wrong coat recently?  We have a pink padded coat, age 12-13, from George, in the office and are looking for exactly the same coat but in a smaller size.  Please check, as the lost one is named.

A REQUEST FROM RECEPTION

The children in Miss Eaton and Miss Harries’ classes will be making lighthouses next week.  To help their project they would be very grateful for donations of cylindrical cartons (Pringles tubes or kitchen roll inners for example, but no toilet roll inners please), small water bottles and newspaper for papier mache.  Many thanks for your help.

CHILDREN IN NEED

Last Friday’s Spotty dressing-up day raised a magnificent £446.27, thank you for generosity.

NURSERY CONCERTS

Please note that the afternoon Nursery concerts will begin at 2.30pm, and not 2.15pm as previously advised.

CHRISTMAS JUMPER DAY

This year’s Christmas Jumper Day will be on Friday 15th December, bring a £1 donation for Ty Hafan if you would like to join in!

FREE CHRISTMAS PARTY!

The Welsh Government campaign ‘Parenting – Give it Time’ is hosting a free Christmas Party. This party will be held at Barry Leisure Centre on Wednesday 13th December in two sessions. The first, 1-3pm will be aimed at preschool children and babies and the second 3.30-5.30pm for all other ages.

There will be a number of organisations present at the event offering a huge range of support and information and all of whom will be running a free activity. Some examples of the activities being offered include making reindeer food, Christmas decorations, a silent welsh disco and cake/biscuit decorating. There will also be a number of workshops running throughout the day including KeyCreate, disability sports Wales and the Play and Sport team.

Bro Radio will be providing music and games, Pedal Emporium will be offering bicycle paint spinning, award winning magician Simon Sparkle, plus a very special visitor all the way from the North Pole!

There will also be a quieter separate sensory room and we have a workshop for sensory massage.

There are no tickets or booking required and all ages will be catered for.

If there are any queries, please feel free to contact khughes@valeofglamorgan.gov.uk or telephone 01446 704893/704704.
